The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts NEET for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, Veterinary, and other medical/paramedical courses in India.

Qualifying in NEET exam is mandatory for Indian students to even study medicine abroad. More than 15 lakh students appear for NEET every year. Admissions to AIIMS and JIPMER are also through NEET exam. The validity of NEET result is one year only.

NEET Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit: The minimum age of a candidate as of December 31, 2021, should be 17 years.

Qualifying Exam: 

• Candidate must have cleared Class 12 or equivalent from a recognised institute.
• Candidates who are appearing for Class 12 or equivalent in summer 2021 can also apply for NEET 2021.
• Candidates who have completed Class 12 or equivalent from an open school are also eligible.

Qualifying Marks: 

• General category: 50%
• PWD category: 45%
• SC/ST/OBC: 40%

• Chemistry
• Biology
• Additional Subject

NEET Reservation Criteria

NEET Reservation are applicable to 15 % ALL INDIA QUOTA  However for 85 % STATE QUOTA each state has its own reservation criteria. Reservation criteria for 15 % ALL INDIA QUOTA are as follows :

• OBC candidates - 27% reservation
• SC candidates - 15% reservation
• ST candidates - 7.5% reservation

NEET Cutoff 

• General - 50% percentile
• SC / ST / OBS - 40% percentile
• General - PWD - 45% percentile
• SC / ST / OBC - PWD - 40% percentile
